Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking an Ambulatory Patient Care Technician to support the multidisciplinary team in pediatric ambulatory care. You will collect patient data, measure vital signs, and assist with basic nursing tasks to ensure safe, efficient clinic operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of acute health care experience (pediatrics preferred), and valid CNA/EMT/CPCT certification with BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of acute health care experience preferred (pediatrics).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or CPCT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and document patient information for meaningful use (chief complaint, medications, allergies, tobacco history).
• Take and record vital signs (TPR, BP), height, weight, head circumference; orient families to the clinic environment.
• Provide basic nursing care (nutrition, ambulation, discharge escort) and check equipment for proper operation.
