Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a capable Certified Nursing Assistant to join the ambulatory care team. You will assist with basic nursing care, collect vital signs, document in the chart, and help direct patient flow with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include High School Diploma or GED, 1 year acute care experience (pediatrics preferred), and active CNA/EMT/CPCT certification with BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of acute health care experience preferred (pediatrics).
• CNA/EMT/CPCT certification required with BLS.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and document for meaningful use, including chief complaint and meds.
• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and growth measurements.
• Identify abnormalities and escalate to RN/Provider.
• Provide basic nursing care and assist with patient flow and discharge.
• Check equipment and ensure proper functioning; report repairs.
• Collect specimens for testing; perform POCT as assigned.
