Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an Ambulatory Patient Care Technician to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team under RN direction. You will support basic nursing care, patient flow, data collection, and safety in a busy Neurology/PM R/PT clinic.

The role requires a CNA/EMT/CPCT certification, BLS, and at least 1 year of acute pediatric care experience. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for optimal patient care and clinic efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in an acute health care setting–pediatrics preferred.
• CNA/EMT/CPCT certification required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and document information for meaningful use, including chief complaint, medications, allergies, and tobacco exposure.
• Obtain vital signs, assist with pain screening, and recognize signs needing escalation to RN/Provider.
• Provide basic nursing care and assist with patient mobility and discharge.
• Ensure equipment is in working order and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Process specimens and coordinate lab/test needs per clinic assignment.
