Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking an Ambulatory Patient Care Technician to support a multidisciplinary health care team under the supervision of an RN. You will perform basic nursing tasks, prepare exam rooms, assist with patient flow, and help maintain a clean, safe clinic environment.

Minimum education is a High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of acute care experience preferred (pediatrics).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in an acute health care setting preferred (pediatrics).
• CNA/EMT/CPCT certification required; BLS for Healthcare Provider required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data for meaningful use, document chief complaint, meds, allergies, tobacco history.
• Record vitals (BP, HR, RR), height, weight, head circumference; orient families to clinic.
• Identify distress or abnormalities and escalate to RN/Provider; provide basic nursing care.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; ensure clean, safe, and organized exam rooms.
• Support patient flow and directions within the clinic; assist with testing and lab draws as assigned.
