Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC seeks an Ambulatory Patient Care Technician to support a multidisciplinary care team in the Medical Specialties Clinic. You will perform basic nursing activities, collect data, document visits, and help direct patient flow.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED; CNA/EMT/CPCT certification and BLS; 1 year of acute care experience, pediatrics preferred. You will maintain a safe, clean clinic environment and collaborate with nurses and providers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in acute health care setting, pediatrics preferred.
• CNA, EMT, or CPCT certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and document information for visits (chief complaint, meds, allergies).
• Record vital signs and measurements; orient families to clinic environment.
• Provide basic nursing care and assist patient movement and discharge.
• Ensure equipment is functional (scales, otoscopes, BP cuffs, etc.).
• Prepare specimens or perform simple tests per clinic assignment.
• Meet Joint Commission/DOH documentation requirements and maintain records.
