Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking an experienced Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Edison, New Jersey. The APN will utilize a patient-centered care approach, demonstrating leadership and clinical competencies while working collaboratively with healthcare teams to implement direct patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a master's or doctorate degree from an accredited program and hold necessary certifications in advanced cardiac and pediatric support. This position involves a mixed schedule of shifts 3–4 times a week, providing critical care services to pediatric patients.

Job description

Position Overview

The Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (APN) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

Seeking an experienced pediatric acute care advanced practice nurse. Preference for an experienced acute care pediatric APN.

Schedule

Schedule is a mix of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, 3–4 times a week.

During the weekdays, there are two shifts: 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.; 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Weekend shifts are 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., every third weekend.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – Required

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications – Required

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• Advance Practice Nurse License.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Board certified by AANP or ANCC.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
