Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a Day Hospitalist role. The candidate should have experience in Emergency Room, RRT, Critical Care Medicine or Inpatient Medicine and maintain NPI and prescriptive authority per New Jersey law.

The APN/PA will work with the hospital team to assess, plan, and implement patient care, demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and ethical decision-making. Weekend, holiday, and on-call expectations are noted.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Job description

Hiring an Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for Day Hospitalist position. The NP/PA will need experience in Emergency Room, RRT, Critical Care Medicine or Inpatient Medicine.

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

  • Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.

• Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant License.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • AHA Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

• Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer platforms, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Emergency Room, RRT, Critical Care Medicine or Inpatient Medicine experience
