Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. seeks an Interventional Cardiology Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant for a hybrid inpatient/outpatient role in New Jersey. The position supports patient-centered care with leadership, collaboration, and direct clinical practice.

The APN/PA will participate in hospital rounds, continuous education, and regulatory-compliant practice, with on-call and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care within a hybrid inpatient/outpatient cardiology setting.

Job description

The Interventional Cardiology Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

Position will include a hybrid of inpatient and outpatient work, consisting of half a day in the hospital and half a day in the office.

Coverage will be Monday through Friday, plus one weekend per month (12 times per year) for hospital rounds with a physician.

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• Advance Practice Nurse License.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Board certified by AANP or ANCC.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.

• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
