Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. seeks an experienced Pediatric Acute Care APN to deliver patient-centered, coordinated care for acutely ill children, collaborating with the hospital team to assess, plan and implement treatment.

The ideal candidate holds NP graduate degree, NJ licensure, NPI, CDS/DEA prescriptive authority, and board certification (AANP/ANCC). Schedule includes 8–12 hour shifts, 3–4 days per week, with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and practice.
• NPI is required.
• Prescriptive authority under CDS/DEA per NJ law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric acute care in collaboration with hospital team.
• Assess, plan and implement care for acutely ill children.
• Lead and participate in care coordination and patient-centered outcomes.
• Maintain required certifications and licensure as applicable.

Job description

The Pediatric Hospitalist APN utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

Seeking an experienced pediatric acute care certified advanced practice nurse.

Schedule is a mix of 8, 10 and 12 hours shifts, 3-4 times a week.

During the weekdays, there are 2 shifts: 6am-4pm; 3pm - 11pm and the weekend shifts are 7am-7pm, every 3rd weekend.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• 1. Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• 2. Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• 3. Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• 4. Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• 5. National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• 6. Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• 7. Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 9. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
