Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable in an office pitching a testing program as they are reviewing compaction reports or sealing geotechnical letters. You carry a business development target and a technical workload at the same time, you keep the clients you win, and your compensation follows the revenue you bring in.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Proven track record of bringing in work or a credible plan for market success.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field/lab data, seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
