Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers to drive business development and technical execution in materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspection. You will manage client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports as the engineer of record.

Responsibilities span winning work, directing field staff and the laboratory, and representing the firm at industry events.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients (GCs, owners, developers, design firms) for materials testing, special inspection, geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review field and lab data; seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
