Accura Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction at Fort Hood, Texas. The role focuses on fire/life safety, UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA compliance, design reviews, inspections, QA, and acceptance testing, coordinating with project teams through all construction phases.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree, PE license, 5+ years of experience, and are US citizens able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college
• PE license required
• Minimum of five years of fire protection engineering experience
• Experience with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety
• US Army Corps of Engineers or federal project experience preferred
• Experience with QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems

Responsabilités

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects
• Serve as subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems
• Perform design reviews, submittal reviews and acceptance testing
• Coordinate with project teams throughout all construction phases
• Attend project meetings and interact with stakeholders
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs
• Develop detailed technical reports with deficiencies and corrective actions
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems
• Ensure compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards
• Support QA and field oversight during construction
