Job summary

HCA Healthcare in Austin, TX is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide patient assessments, develop and implement plans of care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

You will administer medications, facilitate discharge planning, educate patients and families, and participate in councils and initiatives to advance nursing practice.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of practice; TX RN license within 6 months of hire.
• BLS required; NIHSS within 30 days; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as RN.
• BSN preferred or ASN acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Formulate a plan of care; revise based on patient response.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs and goals.
• Administer medications and complete treatments per policy.
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care.
