Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Float Pool at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center. The RN will assess patients on admission, develop and adjust care plans, administer medications, and supervise non-licensed staff.

The role requires ICU experience and active RN licensure in Texas, with required BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CATN/TNCC certifications. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting, ensure accurate

Qualifications

• 2 years of nursing experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license or Compact RN license (if Compact, TX license must be obtained within 90 days).
• BLS required per hospital policy
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required within 60 days of hire
• CATN or TNCC certification within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments at admission and document findings
• Create and revise plans of care including discharge planning
• Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses
• Provide educational materials to patients and families
• Administer medications and complete treatments per policy
• Perform venipuncture and maintain IV fluids/medications
• Review new physician orders and ensure proper execution and notification of other departments
• Notify Charge Nurse/physician of status changes
• Provide accurate handoff reports to oncoming shift for continuity of care
