UAB Medicine in Pell City, AL is seeking a patient care role to assist with basic clinical and non-clinical tasks under supervision. You will help patients with ambulation and daily activities, document changes in condition, and keep rooms and equipment clean.

Position requires BLS within 1 month of hire and a high school equivalency or one year of related experience. This role supports nursing staff and contributes to safe, compassionate patient care at UAB Medicine.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date required; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsabilités

• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff and document records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly and maintain medical equipment.
• Perform technical patient care duties as directed, such as oxygen setup and EKGs.

Job Description

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

• Assist patients with ambulation as necessary. This may include helping them to a recliner in their
  room, walk to the bathroom or down the hall. Assist dismissed patients in getting safely to their
  vehicles.
• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  Documents necessary records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
• Performs certain technical patient care duties in the hospital as directed by the staff nurse such as
  oxygen setup, foley catheter care, pulse oximetry setup, specimen collection and EKGs.
• Obtain and record vitals, weight, and inputs and outputs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
