Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in the Electrophysiology Lab at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. You will implement and monitor care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and ensure orders are carried out while supporting discharge planning with the team.

Qualified candidates hold an Alabama RN license, a current BLS certification, and a nursing diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Direct nursing care duties and adherence to organizational policies.
• Must hold Alabama RN licensure and BLS certification.
• Diploma/degree and licensure required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire required.
