UAB Medicine is seeking an Emergency Department nurse to provide direct patient care and coordinate multidisciplinary treatment. The role requires timely implementation of care plans, accurate communication of patient status, and adherence to orders and protocols.

Eligible candidates must hold a Diploma in nursing and Alabama RN licensure, with BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications obtained within specified timeframes. Primary location is UAB St. Vincent's St. Clair in Pell City, AL.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required within specified timeframes.
• Diploma in nursing from an accredited program and RN licensure in Alabama.

  • Full-time Nights- 6pm-6am
  • Full-time Evenings- 12pm-12am , 10a -10pm
  • PRN evenings
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's St. Clair - Pell City, Al

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
  
  • For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience is required.
