Job summary

SpaceX Bastrop, TX is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for PCB production in Starlink/Starmind initiatives. You will design, code, and optimize automated manufacturing systems, ensuring safe electrical design and reliable operation in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities include PLC development, HMI design, SCADA/MES integration, and electrical panel work with NEC/NFPA/UL508A standards. Strong teamwork and problem-solving are essential in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or chemical discipline.
1+ years of experience with high-speed manufacturing, controls and automation, and/or programming.
Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary.
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, or eligible for required authorizations.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and manage automation projects - including factory ideation, machine commissioning, proof of rate capability, and hand-off to operations.
Architect, write, and debug PLC code for high-volume manufacturing.
Ensure safety and reliability with ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant systems.
Create intuitive HMI screens for complex machines to aid operation and troubleshooting.
Integrate equipment into master SCADA and MES systems.
Design electrical systems compliant to NEC, NFPA, UL508A.
Maintain schedules and budgets and drive the team to achieve milestones.
