Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Process Engineer for PCB (Starlink/Starmind) to drive state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.

You will own equipment, tooling, and process technologies to scale PCB production, design and run DOE, and work with senior leadership on critical design phases as the Bastrop factory scales to become North America’s largest PCB facility. You will lead projects from conception to installation, optimize mechanical and chemical process equipment, and

Qualifications

3+ years of experience with fluids, mechanical, electromechanical design, and/or analysis.
Master’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
Experience with taking products from R&D into production.
Experience with PCB manufacturing processes like metal plating, chemical etching, CNC drill equipment, lamination presses, cleanroom equipment.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain new and/or improved manufacturing processes, equipment, technologies, and facilities.
Analyze production processes and machinery from a first principles, physics-based approach.
Lead DOE to establish a stable and robust process and perform defect analysis to improve yields.
Own project plans, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses for new processes or machines.
