Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, Texas seeks a Mechanical Specialist, PCB to support the Starlink program. You will help establish new manufacturing and test processes for high-volume user terminals, program and run automated equipment, troubleshoot non-conformities, and push design-for-manufacture improvements.

The role requires IPC/J-STD knowledge, SPI/AOI/X-ray capabilities, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with potential overtime and travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years hands-on manufacturing experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience producing J-STD-001 Class 2, IPC-A-610 Class 2 or equivalent hardware.
• Experience programming, loading, and operating automated equipment (paste printer, SPI, pick & place, reflow, AOI, X-ray).
• Experience with electrical tests (in-circuit/bed-of-nails).
• Ability to deliver high-quality hardware in a fast-paced NPI environment.
• Willingness to work shifts and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute new product introduction builds across all work centers.
• Program, load, and operate automated equipment.
• Triage non-conforming products and drive corrective actions.
• Resolve production issues while maintaining design integrity and timelines.
• Conduct process development and validation on new models under tight timelines.
• Ensure smooth transition from development to volume production.
• Identify opportunities to improve yield, performance, and cost.
• Define maintenance schedules and support activities.
