Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a Payroll Supervisor / Accountant III to manage complex payroll tasks across multiple schools. The role reports to the Chief School Business Official and operates under WV code guidelines and the Mingo County salary schedule, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The position requires processing diverse payroll items, maintaining employee records, and coordinating with the benefits and accounting teams.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check required under WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10.
• Takes Competency Test.
• Experience with payroll processing and district payroll systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all schools and locations.
• Process payroll for substitute professionals and substitute service employees.
• Review eSchool for absences and pay adjustments.
• Process stipends, tutoring, contracted services, and various payroll adjustments.
• Review payroll proforma for accuracy and update assignments accordingly.
• Set up new substitutes and retirees' documents.
• Maintain payroll deductions and employee benefits and notify benefits dept.
