Job summary

Trane Technologies in the United States is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support accurate, timely payroll processing using Workday. You will partner with Human Resources, Finance, and business stakeholders to maintain payroll data integrity, resolve payroll issues, support reporting and reconciliations, and help ensure adherence to wage and tax regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience processing payroll in Workday or comparable HRIS/payroll platform.
• Knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour, and payroll taxes.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process recurring, off-cycle, and adjustment payroll activities in Workday with accuracy and deadlines.
• Review and maintain payroll data including earnings, deductions, taxes, time records, and direct deposits.
• Audit payroll results and research discrepancies before submission.
• Respond to payroll questions from employees and stakeholders professionally.
• Collaborate with HR, managers, Finance, and other teams to ensure data accuracy across systems.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for compliance needs.
• Support payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and internal controls.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, tax reporting, and record retention.
