Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Certified Payroll / Prevailing Wage Specialist to ensure compliance with the Davis‑Bacon Act and state wage laws, overseeing CPR preparation, audits, and multi‑state submissions.

You will analyze large payroll data in Excel, use macros and VBA to automate reporting, and collaborate with internal teams to improve accuracy, timelines, and controls. The role is onsite with flexible Fridays for location.

Qualifications

• Experience with Certified Payroll reporting including Davis‑Bacon requirements and electronic CPR systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wage determinations and project specs.
• Advanced Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, macros and VBA.
• Strong communication and time-management to meet weekly deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit CPRs for multiple states.
• Audit CPRs for compliance and accuracy.
• Verify dates, signatures, job classifications, and project details.
• Ensure wage determinations and local schedules are followed.
• Audit payroll calculations for accuracy.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and proof of payment needs.
• Use CPR systems like LCP Tracker and eMars.
• Analyze large payroll data to identify discrepancies and risks.
• Utilize Excel functions and pivot tables for reporting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Excel macros and VBA.
• Identify processes improvements for payroll and compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy.
