Job summary

Constellation Search Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a full-time, on-site role in De Pere, Wisconsin. You will manage payroll processing, ensure timely compensation, and maintain compliance with government regulations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of payroll experience, with strong knowledge of Workday HCM and payroll tax rules. You will work with HR and finance to optimize processes and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of payroll experience, with 6–7 years in finance or process-controlled environments.
• Preferred Workday HCM and Payroll; required knowledge of payroll tax regulations and process controls.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to professionally handle situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; ability to learn new systems.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Experience in managing departmental budgets and coordinating projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll processing and reporting functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with guidelines.
• Calculate and verify wages, tax withholdings, garnishments, and deductions; process direct deposit files and benefit vendor payments.
• Ensure federal, state, and local payroll and tax compliance, including handling tax filings, unemployment reporting, and W-2 processing.
• Perform Workday administrative functions related to payroll, including system maintenance and upgrades.
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll and Workday issues, implementing cross-functional solutions.
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries, providing accurate information and guidance.
• Conduct annual payroll audits and prepare required reports.
• Review and improve payroll processes in collaboration with Human Resources and other partners.
