The incumbent will handle Workday administration, data loads, security, and system upgrades. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of payroll experience, with 6–7 years in finance or a process-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of payroll experience, with 6–7 years in finance or a process-controlled environment.
• Experience with Workday HCM and Payroll preferred; knowledge of payroll tax regulations and process controls required.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work professionally with coworkers and customers and handle complex or sensitive situations.
• Experience managing departmental budgets and coordinating projects, programs, or events from planning through completion.

Responsibilities

• Manage the college’s payroll processing and reporting functions, ensuring payroll is accurate and timely.
• Calculate and verify wages, tax withholdings, garnishments, deductions, and other payroll-related payments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and tax requirements, including tax filings and W-2 processing.
• Perform Workday administrative functions related to payroll, including security maintenance, data loads, integrations, and system upgrades.
• Respond to employee and external inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, garnishments, deductions, and pay-related matters.
• Conduct annual payroll audits and prepare required reports, including census information for actuarial valuation of post-retirement benefits.
• Review and improve payroll processes and procedures in collaboration with Human Resources.
