PlanetArt is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in partnership with the HR and Finance Teams. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with payroll data in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires at least two years of payroll processing experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to handle tasks such as payroll calculations, employee record updates, garnishments, contractor payments and reporting with accuracy and

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or HR preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with multi-state payroll a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll cycles: Calculate wages, bonuses, overtime, deductions, and verify timecards for timely and accurate distribution.
• Process 1099 payments, including AP voucher entry and payment reconciliation for independent contractors.
• Administer garnishments including calculations, processing, and responses to inquiries.
• Maintain payroll records by updating employee information, benefits, and new hire profiles.
• Review, verify, and process employee business expense reimbursements.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and support general ledger posting.
• Prepare routine and ad-hoc payroll reports for management.
• Support payroll compliance by processing payroll in accordance with company guidelines and applicable regulations.
• Perform routine payroll audits, identify discrepancies, and correct or elevate issues as needed.
• Maintain digital payroll files in accordance with company and department data-retention policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
