Job summary

Arketa is hiring its first Payroll Specialist to help build and scale payroll onboarding and support. You’ll work across onboarding, implementation, and ongoing support to help customers adopt payroll in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

This role focuses on building a great customer experience, solving complex payroll issues, and creating scalable processes as Arketa grows in the wellness industry.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience supporting payroll, HR, accounting, or SaaS customers.
• Familiar with payroll software such as Gusto, Paychex, ADP, Rippling, Homebase, QuickBooks Payroll.
• Knowledge of payroll fundamentals: employee setup, payroll schedules, taxes, deductions, year-end forms.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through Arketa Payroll onboarding.
• Assist with collecting and entering payroll, tax, banking, and employee information.
• Support customers migrating from other payroll providers.
• Troubleshoot payroll issues via email, chat, and video calls.
• Own customer issues from first contact to resolution.
• Identify recurring pain points and suggest improvements.
• Create Help Center articles and internal documentation.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve payroll experience.
