Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Payroll Administrator who will provide timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions across our multi-state workforce. The role emphasizes data integrity, compliance, and strong service to team members and managers.

You will reconcile timecards, run weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly cycles, and collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee records. A proactive approach and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years' payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
• Experience processing payroll in UKG, Oracle, or ADP is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Positive, professional attitude with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment which leverages new technology.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments and customer requests.

Responsibilities

• Review and reconcile timecards.
• Execute the weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payroll cycle.
• Address inquiries from team members, supervisors, or Craft Resource Managers regarding hours worked or amount paid.
• Manage work portfolio for a specific operating group, including audits, missed hours, off-cycle payroll transfers, historical corrections, and statement of earnings to support draft checks.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain employee data related to worked hours or amount paid to a team member.
• Provide excellent customer service to team members.
• Remain proficient in new technology introduced within the payroll operations.
• Follow department policies related to sensitive information requests.
• Resolve timecard inquiries via telephone or e-mail.
• Build effective work relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform additional duties such as maintaining trackers, recording errors, updating KPIs, and working on special projects.
