Charlie Health, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing for our growing team across the United States.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll runs, assist with audits, and help maintain UKG Pro and Workforce Management systems. You’ll review timesheets and deductions, resolve pay issues, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with People Operations, Finance, and IT to keep payroll data aligned and improve processes in a

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of payroll experience in a multi-state, distributed workforce environment.
• Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations including wage and hour laws, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
• Hands-on experience using UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management (or similar systems) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., FPC, CPP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll runs and off-cycle payments for employees and independent contractors.
• Review and validate timesheets, deductions, and tax information to ensure accurate pay.
• Assist with payroll system (UKG Pro and Workforce Management) updates, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain payroll records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with wage garnishments, benefit and 401(k) deductions, and related reconciliations.
• Support regular audits of payroll data, controls, and processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams including People Operations, Finance, and IT to ensure accuracy and alignment across systems.
• Assist with payroll system updates, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of payroll processes.
• Proactively contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and service delivery.
