Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking a Payroll Technician II to provide payroll and HR support for CSULB and partner campuses. This role coordinates payroll activities, direct deposits, fee waiver processing, and related tasks, ensuring accurate and compliant processing.

The incumbent collaborates with various departments and maintains service quality. Remote work is possible one day per week, with typical on-site responsibilities at the CSULB Payroll Office.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to two years of experience in preparing and processing payroll/personnel documents.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Position will require on-site work at the CSULB Payroll Office 4–5 days per week; remote work possible 1 day per week.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll-related activities across CSULB and partner campuses.
• Back up Workers' Compensation and Unemployment admin tasks and assist with fringe reporting.
• Process direct deposits, fee waivers, CAT Leave donations, and payroll communications.
• Ensure compliance with CSU policies and state regulations and support timely transaction processing.
