Job summary

CSULB is seeking a Payroll Technician II for the HR Service Group in Long Beach. You will coordinate payroll activities across campus partners, including direct deposit, fee waiver taxes, and CAT Leave donations, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

The role requires solid analytical abilities, proficiency with payroll software (e.g., PeopleSoft), and strong communication. Remote work is limited; on-site presence in Long Beach is typical.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to two years of experience in preparing and processing payroll/personnel documents required.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Experience with similar job duties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports payroll functions across campuses and handles direct deposit issues.
• Backs up Workers' Compensation & Unemployment administration.
• Manages Accounts Receivable processes and liaises with SCO and Campus Cashier's Office.
• Assists with Fringe tax reporting and fee waiver tax information.
• Manages CAT Leave donations and coordinates with IT, HR, Payroll.
• Coordinates paycheck distribution and pickup with Cashier's Office.
