The Payroll Specialist at San Diego Center for Children will manage all aspects of payroll, reconcile benefits, and ensure accurate processing across timekeeping, HRIS, and benefit systems.

This role requires knowledge of CA labor laws, strong Excel skills, and collaboration with HR and Finance to drive compliant, efficient payroll operations and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of CA Labor and Hour Laws and Payroll Tax Regulations.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to Analyze Data and Identify Discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing and ensure timeliness and accuracy.
• Audit payroll transactions and adjust as needed for accuracy.
• Coordinate with HR and Finance on data integrity and benefit deductions.
• Lead year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation and distribution.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and California labor laws.
