Job summary

Marquee Staffing in California seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee full-cycle payroll across multiple facilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance including California wage and hour laws. The role reports to the Director of Payroll as second-in-command and supports day-to-day operations.

You will manage data changes, process bonuses and off-cycle payments, and supervise payroll staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in payroll, with multi-state experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of federal and California payroll laws and taxes.
• Experience with UKG Pro and Workforce Management (WFM) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Operations: Manage full-cycle payroll processing for multi-site, multi-state employees.
• Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages, including regular, overtime, bonuses, and off-cycle payments.
• Review and process employee data changes, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and status updates.
• Process manual checks and ensure compliant final pay practices, including strict adherence to California final pay requirements.
