Job summary

Frankel, one of Nebraska’s largest local CPA Firms, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll for multiple clients within Client Accounting Services. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely delivery, and proactive resolution of discrepancies in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical payroll expertise, organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to deliver exceptional service and insights for confident decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-client environment.
  • Experience managing the full end-to-end payroll process.
  • Experience with payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online).
  • Familiarity with basic accounting concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for multiple clients accurately and on time.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related client inquiries.
  • Manage the full payroll cycle, including preparation, processing, and review.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, errors, and issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Troubleshoot payroll challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted payroll advisor.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless client service delivery.
  • Maintain organized and accurate payroll records and documentation.

Payroll Specialist

We're currently looking to add a Payroll Specialist to our Client Accounting Services practice.

Frankel’s Client Accounting Services (CAS) team is built on collaboration, trust, and a genuine commitment to helping clients succeed. We partner closely with business owners to deliver accurate accounting, financial reporting, and payroll support—while providing insights that drive confident decision-making.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients. This role serves as a primary point of contact for payroll-related matters, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery while proactively resolving discrepancies and identifying opportunities for improvement.

The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with clients, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and brings a strong combination of technical expertise, organization, and problem-solving ability to a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
