Job description

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist with expertise in Prevailing Wage compliance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and experienced in ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws, including the California Labor Code.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate certified payroll and ensuring full labor compliance on abatement projects across California.

This position is on-site in the City of Azusa, CA.

Pay: $30.00-$37.00 DOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and apply California Public Works and Davis-Bacon regulations
• Manage certified payroll processes and ensure timely CPR submissions
• Advise on wage classifications, compliance risks, and labor costs
• Support audits and maintain complete compliance documentation
• Train staff and subcontractors on prevailing wage procedures
• Ensure proper reporting through platforms like LCP tracker
• Assist with bid and contract reviews for wage and bond requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years in prevailing wage compliance (construction or environmental sector preferred)
• Strong knowledge of California Labor Code and federal wage laws
• Proficiency in certified payroll systems
• Clear communicator with excellent attention to detail
