Job summary

Stratix Systems is seeking a Payroll and Recruiting Clerk to manage payroll processing and support talent acquisition activities. This role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting recruiting efforts to attract, hire, and onboard qualified candidates.

Responsibilities include handling semi-monthly payroll, maintaining records, coordinating interviews, processing new hires and terminations, and ensuring compliance. Strong organization and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience required.
• Experience with recruiting or HR support functions preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll systems (Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain payroll records, including wages, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Process new hire information, terminations, and employee changes in the payroll system.
• Review timesheets and resolve discrepancies with managers and employees.
• Manage payroll deductions such as benefits, garnishments, and taxes.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as needed.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Post job openings on job boards, company website, and recruiting platforms.
• Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate phone interviews as needed.
• Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
• Manage candidate communication throughout the hiring process.
• Assist with preparing offer letters and employment documentation.
• Coordinate background checks and pre-employment screenings.
• Support onboarding of new hires including documentation and orientation scheduling.
• Maintain applicant tracking system and recruiting records.
