Job summary

AlphaStaffHCM is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead a team in a dynamic payroll environment. You will audit payroll runs, resolve discrepancies, and respond to client report requests while ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations.

You will supervise workloads, harmonize PTO approvals, and partner with the Payroll Manager to set goals and implement process improvements. Strong PrismHR and client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience in a PEO environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in PEO payroll operations.
• Subject matter expert in PrismHR payroll functionality.
• In-depth knowledge of multi-state payroll, wage & hour laws, and tax regulations.
• Solid understanding of payroll components: tax withholdings, Section 125 benefits, contributions, garnishments.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume payrolls accurately.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proactive issue resolution.
• Proven client-facing experience with excellent communication and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit payrolls to correct discrepancies before invoicing.
• Provide guidance to Payroll Specialists and address client report requests.
• Supervise and manage team workload for accuracy and efficiency.
• Review and approve PTO requests to maintain coverage.
• Collaborate with Payroll Manager to set departmental goals and drive improvements.
• Train onboarding hires on payroll processes and systems.
• Coordinate client calls with Payroll Specialists to address concerns.
• Resolve client issues using PrismHR, Salesforce and AlphaTime and ensure policy compliance.
• Build strong internal and client relationships and support talent management and disciplinary actions.
• Stay updated on PrismHR updates and perform monthly testing.
