Job summary

AlphaStaffHCM is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to lead end-to-end payroll operations for client companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You will mentor Payroll Specialists, drive process improvements, and partner with the Payroll Manager to meet business goals.

In this role you will oversee multi-state payroll, tax filings, benefit/pension plan setups, and client communications, while promoting a collaborative team environment and professional growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience in a PEO environment.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in payroll operations.
• Expertise in PrismHR payroll functionality.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll and wage/hour laws.
• Strong attention to detail and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit initialized payrolls to ensure accuracy before invoicing.
• Supervise payroll team workloads and performance.
• Assist with PTO approvals and coverage planning.
• Train new hires on payroll processes and systems.
• Collaborate with Tax department on quarterly filings.
• Lead client calls to address payroll concerns.
• Stay current on PrismHR updates through monthly testing.
• Maintain client General Ledgers aligned with COA.
• Escalate unprocessed payrolls to senior leadership.
• Support retirement and benefit plan setups.
