Job summary

Judi Health in New York is seeking a Manager, Payroll to lead day-to-day payroll operations and own delivery of payroll services for all employee populations.

You will manage a team of Payroll Analysts and partner with HR, HR Technology, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate and efficient payroll services.

The hybrid role requires strong leadership, expertise in UKG or similar platforms, and a commitment to compliance and data security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including experience processing complex payrolls.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing payroll professionals.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes, wage and hour requirements, payroll taxation, deductions, garnishments, and year-end processing.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, audits, controls, and reporting.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
• CPP or FPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Payroll Analysts with clear priorities and performance feedback.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Manage day-to-day payroll operations including calculations, deductions, taxes, and related transactions.
• Review payroll results, reconciliations, and audit reports to resolve discrepancies.
• Establish and maintain payroll processes, controls, and documentation.
• Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Oversee payroll tax administration and jurisdictional setup and updates.
• Serve as escalation point for complex payroll questions and issues.
• Partner with HRIS to troubleshoot system issues and improve automation.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance and Accounting to ensure data flow.
• Support payroll accounting activities and year-end tax documentation.
• Monitor payroll metrics and drive process improvements.
• Support internal and external payroll audits with documentation.
