Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Manager in Columbia, MD, offering a hybrid work arrangement. The role leads payroll operations, ensures timely weekly payroll, and prepares payroll reports, while resolving issues and supervising staff.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in finance/HR, 5+ years of payroll supervisory experience, and proficiency with ADP and Microsoft Office; CPP preferred. Top candidates will demonstrate strong leadership and communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, HR, or related field.
• 5+ years of payroll supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of payroll software systems, preferably ADP.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages Payroll staff
• Ensures timely and accurate preparation and administration of payroll operations
• Interprets employment policies, government regulations, and federal and state taxing authorities in connection with payroll activities, and makes recommendations to senior management as appropriate
• Maintains payroll records, reports, computations, and audits
• Interfaces routinely with HRIS on developing payroll applications that ensure internal controls, and facilitates the implementation and maintenance of payroll and HR master files
• Provides periodic analysis of payroll records to ensure that adjustments are in compliance with company, state, and federal criteria
• Provides leadership to team
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
