Job summary

Quick Servant in Columbia, Maryland is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a busy operations team. This onsite role covers employee relations, onboarding, payroll administration, benefits coordination, compliance, workers' compensation, fleet administration, and HR process improvements.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, proficient with payroll systems (ADP), and comfortable supporting both office and field staff while contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a Generalist or related role
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Experience supporting payroll, benefits, and leave administration
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, personnel records, compliance, and HR program administration
• Coordinate payroll and employee-related changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions, garnishments, child support orders, and employee status updates
• Maintain accurate and confidential HR, payroll, benefits, workers' compensation, and fleet records in compliance with policies and regulations
• Partner with third-party payroll, benefits, and retirement plan administrators to ensure effective administration of programs
• Administer employee benefits and retirement programs, including enrollments, contribution changes, loan requests, withdrawals, and communications
• Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll, benefits, policies, and HR matters, partnering with internal teams and third parties
• Support employee relations efforts by providing guidance to employees and managers
• Manage workers' compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution
• Oversee fleet administration activities, including vehicle registrations, licenses, insurance documentation
• Provide operational support to field technicians, including coordination of uniforms, IDs, and resources
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the employee experience
