Job summary

LHH is partnering with a longstanding client to hire a Payroll Manager in San Jose, CA. This on-site role has grown with the company and requires a hands-on leader to oversee payroll operations across multiple states, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements within the payroll function.

Ideal candidates bring manufacturing industry experience, multi-state payroll knowledge (CA required, TX ideal) and a proven ability to lead teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years minimum experience in Payroll Management
• At least 3 years in people management
• Manufacturing industry experience required
• Multi-state payroll experience (CA required, TX ideal)
• On-site presence in San Jose

Responsibilities

• Currently regulations knowledge of legality and compliance
• Delegating task, communicating with the team on responsibilities and projects, encouraging a collaborative environment
• Benchmarking on salary ranges, JDs, and hourly pay
• Manage and process payrolls for multiple state employees & jurisdictions
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions
• Oversee the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of payroll checks, direct deposits, and payroll tax filings.

They need to see manufacturing industry experience, multi-state payroll knowledge, and the ability to be 100% on site in San Jose. Is this something you'd be interested in exploring?

Requirements:

• 5+ years minimum experience in Payroll Management and at LEAST 3 years in people management
• Experienced in using different Payroll systems and holding tech savvy ability to learn and adapt to new systems
• Manufacturing industry experience required
• Needs multi state experience - CA required and TX ideal
• Ability to be 100% on site in San Jose
