• Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits administration, and leave tracking.
• Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• High level of accuracy, organization and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees weekly or bi-weekly.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Review and audit timesheets, attendance records, and payroll reports for accuracy.
• Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and status updates in the payroll system.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Manage payroll tax reporting, wage attachments and benefit deductions.
• Reconcile payroll reports, liabilities and general ledger accounts.
• Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and audits.
• Support payroll compliance initiatives and maintain confidential information.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing manufacturing team in Vernon, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment, strong knowledge of California payroll regulations, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish. Experience with Paylocity is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and garnishments.
• Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Review and audit timesheets, attendance records, and payroll reports for accuracy.
• Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and employee status updates within the payroll system.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
