Job summary

B&A is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee all payroll operations for our multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with Paylocity and Unanet, ensure timely payroll processing, and maintain compliance with payroll regulations.

You will partner with HR, Finance, and leadership to drive accuracy, audits, reporting, and continuous process improvements, including W-2s and year-end activities. Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of payroll leadership required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including payroll leadership or management responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience with Paylocity payroll administration.
• Experience using Unanet for labor, project, timekeeping, and payroll-related functions.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process for multi-state employees.
• Administer payroll operations using Paylocity and Unanet.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule, including salaries, hourly wages, bonuses, commissions, and special payments.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Review and reconcile payroll reports, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings.
• Coordinate payroll tax filings and ensure timely reporting and payments.
• Manage payroll audits and support internal and external audit requests.
• Partner with HR regarding employee onboarding, offboarding, compensation changes, and benefits administration.
