Bart & Associates, LLC is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for multi-state employees, with hands-on Paylocity and Unanet expertise. The role ensures regulatory compliance, accurate processing, and collaboration with HR and finance to drive continuous process improvement.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in payroll leadership, strong knowledge of federal/state/local regulations, and strong Excel/data analysis skills to generate actionable payroll metrics for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field
• 5+ years progressive payroll experience including leadership or management responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for multi-state employees
• Administer payroll using Paylocity and Unanet
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule including salaries, hourly wages, bonuses, commissions, and special payments
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
• Review and reconcile payroll reports, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings
• Coordinate payroll tax filings and ensure timely reporting and payments
• Manage payroll audits and support internal and external audit requests
• Partner with HR on onboarding, changes, and benefits administration
• Maintain payroll records and data integrity across systems
• Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls
• Supervise and mentor payroll staff with training and performance guidance
• Generate and analyze payroll metrics and reports for leadership
• Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and reconciliations
