Confidential Employer in Wisconsin seeks an experienced payroll leader to oversee multi-state payroll operations and a processing team. You will coach staff, ensure accurate on-time payroll for diverse clients, and maintain strong client relationships.

The role begins fully on-site in Waukesha with ramp-up support; periodic remote work may be possible after established performance. Bachelor's degree and hands-on payroll leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading payroll teams and processes.
• Hands-on multi-state payroll experience required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Proven ability to manage confidential data.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the payroll processing team.
• Oversee payroll processing for multiple clients and schedules.
• Review payrolls, changes, deductions, and adjustments.
• Manage workloads, deadlines, and quality control.
• Escalate complex payroll questions to clients as needed.
• Build client relationships with timely communication.
• Support onboarding by reviewing prior payroll records.
• Review payroll configurations before processing.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll rules.
• Coordinate year-end activities and W-2 processing.
• Collaborate with accounting, tax, and admin teams.
• Develop procedures and workflows to improve accuracy.
• Stay current on payroll laws and best practices.
