Job summary

Wis-Pak in Windsor, Wisconsin, near Madison, is seeking a Payroll Lead to oversee payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. The role combines in-person collaboration with a flexible hybrid schedule, onsite four days per week and remote one day per week.

The ideal candidate brings strong payroll expertise, leadership of a small team, and a continuous improvement mindset to ensure accurate, compliant payroll and data integrity across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or business admin, plus 5+ years multi-state payroll.
• Experience leading payroll teams and supporting hourly manufacturing and salaried staff.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax administration and reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and data reconciliation.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states.
• Manage and develop a team of two payroll professionals.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting.
• Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end activities like W-2 processing.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Operations to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
