Job summary

Grand Home Furnishings is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager & HR Assistant to oversee company-wide payroll, payroll taxes, and related HR duties. The role reports to the Director of HR & Benefits and supports onboarding, benefits, and accounting functions across multiple locations in Virginia, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

The candidate should have 5+ years in payroll processing, strong Excel skills, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in payroll processing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and overall payroll/accounting functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential payroll and employee information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and prepare company-wide payroll, payroll taxes, and journal entries.
• Balance to the general ledger and reconcile bank statements for payroll accounts.
• Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations.
• Manage onboarding system and employee changes in the payroll system.
• Provide training and support to HR and benefits functions.
