Samsung Electronics America is seeking a Director of Payroll to lead accurate, timely payroll for NA subsidiaries in the U.S. and Canada. The role oversees payroll operations, tax/compliance, controls, vendor management and budget while driving automation and continuous improvement of payroll services.

The Director partners with HRIS, Data Management, Finance and Samsung HQ to ensure compliant payroll operations across entities and multi-state environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• 10+ years of payroll experience, including 5+ years leading payroll teams in a multi-entity environment.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. payroll tax and wage-and-hour compliance.
• Experience with enterprise payroll and HCM systems (Workday, UKG, ADP).
• Strong controls, reconciliation and audit experience (SOX/ICFR).
• Experience owning vendor relationships, contracts, licenses and budget in a payroll/shared services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll for multiple entities and pay groups in U.S. and Canada, including multi-state processing.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and internal controls; SOX/ICFR readiness.
• Drive automation and process improvements; define KPIs and SLAs.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, licenses and payroll budget.
• Lead, coach and develop the payroll team and build succession plans.
