Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Service Manager to lead a 4-6 person payroll team in delivering accurate, compliant payroll services for North America. You will drive process improvements, maintain controls, and partner with HR, HRIS, and benefits teams to ensure timely payroll processing and reporting.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, customer focus, and the ability to manage complex workflows while aligning with corporate strategies and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a complex environment, preferably a US & CAN payroll or shared service function.
• 4+ years in customer service related field and ability to demonstrate strong customer relationship skills.
• Experience with top tier payroll and HRIS systems (UltiPro, Kronos, Workday or similar).
• Ability to troubleshoot, resolve, and proactively address requests independently using predefined and creative solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills including the ability to adjust messaging for various levels of recipients.
• Payroll audit, control, quality assurance and/or tax management experience.
• Payroll accounting experience including GL posting, accruals and reconciliation of payroll expenses.
• Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• APA FPC or CPP designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a team of 4-6 payroll professionals to achieve consistent results in an increasingly complex environment.
• Own accountability for day-to-day management of payroll service team activities including cycle processing, controls, SLAs and data audits.
• Manage relationships within SLAs while providing research, resolution, product support and a superior customer experience to workers and administrators.
• Produce measurable results in a collaborative team environment and individually.
• Act as key service escalation point for payroll and elevate issues to Payroll Leadership.
• Ensure processing procedures and timelines are followed across the organization.
• Maintain up-to-date procedural documents and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Drive training goals including curriculum, payroll knowledge, and job shadowing.
• Support recurring and ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead project initiatives, gather user requirements, and drive system enhancements.
• Deliver performance reviews and presentations to diverse audiences; sustain audit processes and team metrics.
• Monitor regulatory compliance requirements and recommend actions.
• Contribute to strategic vision with NA SSC and Samsung corporate strategies.
• Other duties as assigned.
